The Patient Care Technician (CPCT), a student will learn how to maintain a clean healthy environment for the patient, how to perform personal care tasks such as bathing, hygiene care, range of motion exercises, assist with mobility, toileting, sitting, and standing. Student's will learn how to assist with nutrition, eating and drinking. The program will also teach the student how to take and record vital signs, patient intake and output, specimen collection, and how to assist with dressing changes and pre-op care. The Patient Care Assistant student will learn phlebotomy skills, administering an ECG, interpreting basic ECG rhythms, and troubleshooting equipment.
